Classes & Appearances

Classes

1. "Background Check" - Class A

By making a pillowcase, this class explores four basic background quilting techniques: echo quilting, bouncing bananas, tracing and micro-stippling. Contrary to the idea of random-ness of free-motion quilting, the “order” within the free-motion background quilting is explained for more stunning heirloom quilting results. This class also covers the basic aspects of heirloom quilting - choices of fabric, threads, needles and more.

2. "Background Check" - Class B

By making a small wallhanging, this class explores further on other interesting background quilting stitches - "Cathedral windows", cross hatching, and feather / rope border. Students are shown different possible background quilting designs they can now try to experiment for themselves.

3.  Designing and Drawing your OWN feathers

Students will learn to draw their own feathers like the ones featured in the Quilter Magazine, March 2008 issue.

4.  Stitching out your feathers

Students will have a hands-on experience in feather-quilting to create an heirloom appearance with ease.

5.  Triangle Tricks

This class covers a few tricks I use to improve on the precision of my triangles so that my triangles are always "on-point" when pieced in quilt top.
